The methodology behind Math in Focus was described in great detail by a Houghton Mifflin representative, and questions were answered by Dr. Murray. The foundation and fluidity of the program were a relief to see and learn more about. I believe students, teachers,and parents alike will be very pleased with the new program for years to come.
But, with any change there is a learning or implementation curve. Many parents are interested in finding out how the change will affect their children. It also came as a surprise to many parent's that the sixth-eighth grade classes were transitioning to Math in Focus as well, and this bit of confusion brought about many questions.
While we are all very excited about this change for Radnor Township School District, we are very much looking forward to finding out more from Dr. Murray and RTSD.
