I believe that when you know better, you do better. So I entered into this battle to get rid of Everyday Math thinking that all I needed to do was to approach the school board, show them how poor the curriculum is, and they would be compelled to act, Ha! Little did I know...
A quote from RTSD school board in 2013: "Although the science offerings are currently under needed review, there are also important questions about the elementary math textbook series, Everyday Math, which are yet to be addressed. "

Now as we head into 2015 these questions have still not been addressed. Not only are we still using the textbook series in question, the review of the series has not even begun! This is inexcusable, our students deserve better!
